About the Event
In a fast-paced world, true tranquility can feel elusive. Join us for a dedicated evening of quiet contemplation, community prayer, and deep spiritual rest as we center our hearts on the enduring peace offered by Christ. Whether you are a seasoned meditator or exploring silent prayer for the very first time, you are welcome here.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”— John 14:27
The Evening’s Program
We will gather in a shared spirit of silence and reflection, moving through the following flow:
Welcome & Opening Prayer – Grounding ourselves in the presence of the Divine.
Reading from John Main – A brief reflection on the profound nature of Christian stillness.
Meditation – 20 minutes of silent prayer to quiet the mind and open the heart.
Lectio Divina – A slow, prayerful reading and contemplation on the gift of Christ’s peace from the spiritual writing of Julian of Norwich.
Time for Quiet Reflection or Meditation – Immersing in the beauty and tranquility of St Theodore’s Community Spiritual Garden.
Silent Prayer & Final Blessing – Closing our time together in gratitude and peace.
What to Bring & Prepare - Comfortable Clothing: Wear something easy to sit quietly in. Since we will spend time in the garden, you may wish to bring a light jacket or shawl depending on the weather.
An Open Heart: No prior experience with silent prayer or meditation is required
